Look no further! One of my goals for 2025 is to read more, and I feel like I’ve started the year off pretty strong! Apparently I’m on a thriller kick, but none of these are check-the-doors-after-reading kind of thrillers. Just fun and twisty! Here are three of my favorites that I’ve read in the last few weeks.

The Last Flight by Julie Clark
This book did not go where I was expecting! The Last Flight is about two women, Claire and Eva, who swap plane tickets at the airport to escape their problems. But Eva’s plane ends up crashing, giving Claire the perfect opportunity to start over. Claire assumes Eva’s identity, but she had no idea about all of the secrets Eva was trying to keep hidden. It’s told from both women’s perspectives and the end was unexpected!

The Unwedding by Ally Condie
Set in Big Sur, this book is a whodunit that takes place at a luxurious resort. A newly single woman goes to the resort, where she was supposed to be celebrating her 20th anniversary. But now she is divorced and taking the trip for herself. There is a wedding scheduled to take place at the resort and early one morning she discovers the body of the groom floating face down in the pool. A mudslide has taken out the roads, leaving the guests trapped and the police unable to reach them. And then there is another death leading the guests and staff at the resort to have to figure it out on their own.

Only If You’re Lucky by Stacy Willingham
After Margot’s best friend dies the summer after high school, she has been a shell of herself. Her first year of college is simple and safe. But at the end of the year a mysterious girl named Lucy, asks her to room together. The year that follows is anything but simple and safe. One of the boys next door ends up dead and Lucy is nowhere to be found. There were some surprises from Margot’s past that showed up throughout the book and played a major role in everything that happened.
