Here in Texas, kids are gearing up to head back to school in about 2 weeks. Which of course has me thinking about all of the fun, cute things kids to get to buy for school. Since I am kid-less but obsessed with my dog, I thought I’d round up some of my absolute favorite products that I use with my dog Lottie, who happens to go to “school”. She goes to doggy dare care a few days a week and loves it. She is zonked out at the end of the day and I know she had a blast playing with her doggy friends. Last year she was valedictorian at training, so she got to wear this super stylish hat!

First up is her “lunch box” that she takes to school. Her daycare does a nap time from 12-2 and during that time they eat lunch, so I needed something for her to take that had a lid. I found a Hydrapeak dog bowl at Marshalls (the link will take you to Amazon, but check local stores to see if they have them in stock) and then customized it with her name using my Cricut and vinyl. Then I found a lid to fit the bowl on amazon. They make a great combo and I’ve never had a spill with this pair.

Next is this hammock car seat cover. I LOVE these because they keep your car protected but they also keep your pup from falling between the seats. The breathable mesh center ensures that they have plenty of airflow on those hot Texas days. The sides also zip up to help protect your doors. I’ve washed mine once and it came out pretty well. The fabric pilled a little bit, but it still functions great.

The other thing I have in my car are these door protectors. Lottie is part Boxer which means she uses her feet for EVERYTHING. She often request that her window be rolled down by dragging her nails down the door. So I needed something to protect the entire door from the window down. I just put the tabs in between the window and the door, I don’t use any sort of adhesive because I didn’t want it to leave any residue behind. And they stay up pretty well! Occasionally I’ll need to fix one of the tabs that has come out because of Lottie’s excessive pawing. But its a great compromise to not have to use adhesive.

The last thing in my car is a lead that attaches to Lottie’s collar and to the seat. If she could have her way, she would sit on my lap while I drive. And she weighs 65 lbs, so that’s not really an option!! This lead keeps her safely in the backseat.

At home we use tons of puzzles and interactive toys to keep my crazy girl occupied. Every time I leave the house, I give Lottie this ball with about 10 of these little treats in it. It helps keep her occupied and cuts down on destructive puppy behavior. I have found the treats at Costco a few times and sometimes they are almost half the price of Amazon.

If Lottie doesn’t go to daycare she is definitely going to want to play! For the days when we’ve played and played and it’s still not enough, I found this treat dispenser and button. I can set the button up quite a ways from the treat dispenser and then she has to run back and forth to push the button and get her treats. She learned how to use this surprisingly fast, as you can see below, by using the “touch”command.

The final toy that is great for her to play with on her own is this interactive ball. It bounces, rolls and jiggles so she never knows which way it’s going to roll or what it’s going to do!

I have tons of other fun toys and puzzles but I’m going to save those for a toy specific post in the future! I hope some of your pups love these items just as much as my Lottie girl!
